Take a Quick Look...
Check your legs—especially the inner side near your ankle joint.
- Is that area darker than usual or reddish?
- Do you often feel itching there?
- If you get a small wound, does it take a long time to heal?
If your answer is “yes”, you need to be aware of this. ⚠️ Many people think this is just a simple skin problem, but the real cause may be a condition called Varicose Veins.
🤔 Why does this happen?
Blood is carried from your heart to your legs through arteries. Then it must travel back up to the heart through veins.
Inside the leg veins, there are tiny valves. Their job is to push blood upward and prevent it from flowing backward. However, these valves become weak due to:
- Standing for long hours
- Aging
When that happens, blood starts to collect in the lower part of the legs instead of flowing upward properly.
🩺 What happens next?
When pressure builds up in these veins:
- Blood can leak into surrounding tissues
- The skin near the ankle may turn red at first, then dark
- Itching may develop
Varicose Ulcers: If this continues, the skin can easily break and form wounds. These wounds are difficult to heal because proper blood circulation is poor in that area.
What should you do? ✅
👉 Don't wait: If you notice these symptoms, act before a wound appears.
👉 Treat the cause: Treating only the wound is not enough. The varicose veins must be properly treated.
👉 Get a diagnosis: Consult a qualified doctor to check for internal vein problems.
👉 Avoid self-treatment: Do not just apply creams without a proper medical diagnosis.
